A constant problem in video installations is a possible ground
potential difference between each end of a coax cable shield. The
resulting AC current flow causes those annoying "hum bars" moving
slowly upward through an analog picture. This ground loop hum may also
cause problems in an SDI signal. Depending on cable length, the input
cable equalization of a digital device may already be stressed. If hum is
added to this condition, it is quite possible to experience the "cliff
effect". In either case, the HB900 humbucker can save the day.
